Anybody still play the old ones...
suggested I quit dragging my antiques on the road to gigs.
What is your old beater favorite?
It's not a beater... It's a Kalamazoo2. And it RAWKS! (10" celestion and
vintage WWII Navy Jan 12AU7 in V1)
And for large gigs it's a 1968 Silverface Super Reverb (BF'd back in '72)
With another vintage WWII Navy Jan 12AU7 in V1.
GREAT tubes!!
And I'm waiting for delivery (shipped yesterday) of (2) Peavey Royal 8
amplifiers purchased from Musician's Friend for $99 ea. free shipping. 5W
class A with 8" speaker... much like the old tweed champ but with ss
rectifier.
Maybe I'll swap the speakers for 10s, and certainly swap the tubes for
vintage american made old stock. I may even take out the ss recto and put
in a 6X4... we'll see.
