It'd be like like walking around in tap shoes - you'd hear the slide click against the tubing every time you pressed it in - and perhaps on the way out as well. Winslow Yerxa

Subject: [Harp-L] Replacing slide bumpers with metal tubing
Has anybody tried replacing the rubber bumpers of their chromatic slider system with metal tubing of the same dimensions? Yes, I know that they are there for a bit of a cushioning. I am wondering if there is a noticeable difference in slider friction when metal tubing is used instead.
