Interesting Vern.  Thanks for that good information.  I had reasoned the colder metal got, the stiffer it became, thus more resistance to movement ( which I thought would lower its pitch).  Kinda like truck springs in sub zero temps feel stiffer than in summer heat. <br/>I think it was Richard Sleigh who explained to warm up the reeds while tuning so moisture build up on cold reeds doesn't influence the accuracy of the pitch. <br/>I am feeling lower pitched these chilly early mornings.
