[Harp-L] Re: New technique
Bill Hines knows his name. He stayed with Bill while passing through
Pennsyvania about 6-7 years ago. Use to be on harpl.
I tried the split on 2 harps. A GM I set up and a stock 1847. Seems
to work easier if the harp has been customized for effortless bend
notes.
If just occurred to me. Doesn't Carlos Del Junco do that on his live
cd? I seem to recall him starting with the bent note octave switch
then bringing it up into pitch. Maybe intro to Rocket 88? It's
been almost a decade since I've listened to the cd. I could be wrong.

approach, and it worked! and I mean straight away, pretty much.
There are some extensions to the technique (ie upper bends with
lower non-bends) mthet are more trying,
but who knows? I've tried overblows on one side too, but it's a bit
too far out, I think.
Let me know if you have any luck with it. I reckon there's players
out there who could make more of it than
