Re: [Harp-L] Chromatic vs Diatonic

Isn't it good that the appreciation of music is subjective.
If we all liked the same, there wouldn't be enough to go around!
I like diatonic harp for some tunes, chromatic harp for others.
In my opinion, neither is BETTER!
All that matters is the music.
Who CARES how someone achieves the sound that they do? Well of course, to
answer my own question... The people who want to learn how to play that same
music care, and that's just fine.
But other than that? The audience mostly just want to hear the music!
I play diatonic... in many positions but mainly 2nd..
I play chromatic, and have 270 chroms in all twelve major keys. But these
days I mostly play a "Renny" built for me by the great Douglas Tate. (It's
a "C" Instrument)
But I play CHROMATICALY with all my harps... I just "want an edge"...
There are many GREAT harmonicists around today.
We are SO LUCKY to have the chance to hear so much of their music.
