The below statement and those who think that as blues players they don't
need to be "very concerned about pitch" are part of the reason that much of
what is put out there as blues sounds like crap. When notes are slurred out
of pitch intentionally the effect can be (but isn't always) right for the
genre. When it's done out of lack of concern for pitch it's just bad
musicianship, period. This one reason why the instrument has not gotten the
respect it deserves. I don't care if it's blues or not, if you're serious
about advancing the harmonica it should be played like an instrument.
I.E. not casually, not sloppily.
