Re: [Harp-L] A major on a C diatonic (was: Positions)
...and the Dominant 7th workout! Around 5 minutes on each 7th chord, I like doing things like restricting myself to specific scales like switching between major and minor pentatonics for example, going up and down in 3rds or just playing extensions and as i get better, to move on to just playing spanish phrygian, or lydian dominant or altered etc, so i can get those scales under my tongue as it were.
The ones that go round the cycle with two, four or eight bars per chord are good too and you can have a lot of fun with the one with random root movement, especially if you manage to lose the charts like i did.
Cheers

Me too! Excellent way to work on all 12 keys... what I do is play one key a day on the Aebersold rhythm changes, cycling my way thru all 12 a day at a time....practice, practice, practice...no other way, at least for a non-genius like me.
