 It took maturity to kick in before I could deal with this aspect. Finally, in my heart, I found I had nothing to prove to myself or others. I didn't feel compelled to HAVE TO participate in a jam session. I could walk if the situation sucked. On stage, without anything to prove, I found it was much easier to participate as a part of a whole rather than being the whole thing. Funny, but once I hit this stride, I seemed to be able to outgunsling the gunslingers by notgunslinging. I called this "Zen Gunslinging" in my past lectures.


If you feel competitive, how do you deal with it 
in terms of music? How do you let go of it?
