Re: [Harp-L] re: Mama Thornton

Do you really not know what "gunslinger" attitude is and how it relates to harmonica players? (I kinda think you do, but also know how you enjoy stirring up the pot).

My posting wasn't really aimed directly at your initial post, so at ease, g'uvnor.

The "fast" comment kinda originated from "fastest gun in the west" - fastest = best in that arena. Didn't really mean it to be FASTEST harmonica player, but can understand how it could be interpreted that way, as I wasn't really crystal clear.

Just another comment on the competitiveness that is contained in a lot of comments comparing players. I'm with those posters that don't feel that music is a competition.

What leads you to come up with this statement. Were you just watching a western?

Yeah, well, I never said that. I remember capitalizing the word 'THIS' as in this video.

Ok, where was 'faster' ever mentioned. I think you're making this bigger than it is. I said: I could find 5 people at any spah that can beat these 5. I didn't say: I can find ANY 5 people. I said I can find 5 people. Speed has nothing to do with it. You seem to have a Klepto for always bringing up speed. I never think of speed. I could be Charley McCoy IF I could do the speed. Hah hah (insert laugh)

Back to the subject. At St. Louis 08, think about it. All you who were there. Think of 5 people. I'm sure you could do it.

Sheesh, talk about making a big deal over nothing. Why is it that every time someone says ANYTHING about these old players, that the feathers puff up.
