Re: [Harp-L] Wonderful Harp (was Dangerous harp) is Wonderful Worldof Jim Prushankin

I've been complimented with sounding like a lot of people and accused of
sounding like Dane Russell. Which, I guess is only an accusation since I
hang out with him and he helped me learn my scales a few years ago.

Most people come up to me after shows, that have played harmonica when they
were 10, or tried to learn it last summer but that was it... and they know a
great name or two because they listen to NPR or bought some CD's to practice
with and they compare me to whomever they could name, but generally I just
smile and say thank you because I figure, if they were musicians like I'm a
musician, they wouldn't have said that, but it saves me 10 minutes
discussing the finer points of the Orange head i'm using or why we, a blues
band, play "White Rabbit" with someone who's just going to get really bored
with me and wander away... It's easier to say THANKS! I'm glad you liked it,
and tell him we'll be back in ten minutes and just revel that someone could
hear you over the guitar for once.

Honesty is the best policy right?
