Re: [Harp-L] Meisterklasse harps

Hey Smo-Jo. actually, all this talk of Meisterclas touches my heart. I have three Mmid-80's Meisterclas harps. i was able to get some of the few remaining reedplates from Honhner and sent everything to Bob Meehan for customizing. I love the feel of thes critters and wish i had more. Maybe it's just sentiment. They don't fit in my Vern smith harp rack, but they're still my favorites.

Hi 'Frogmeister', my use of the words 'Turnpike sign' were meant as levity. Something for people (like your funny self) to muse over. In actuality, the point was that a piece of aluminum was all that was necessary. Years of taking things apart always leads me to possibilities for harmonica. And years of working for the Pa state police gave me access to the dump where all the damaged signs wound up.

How many harp players does it take to obtain a turnpike sign?
two. One to steal the sign and one to watch for state police.

Easy way to make a Meisterklasse comb. All you need is a Turnpike sign and a jeweler's (or coping) saw. Use 2 thickness' of 1/4" (6 mm) sign epoxied together, lay out slots & cut. Oh, don't forget to take off the reflective stickum with paint remover. Then paint the comb with clear nail polish to keep the corrosion at bay.
