Those are mainly just dust covers, the biggest threats to mics are shock, liquid, and temperature extremes.

If you want to protect you mic you need to address those issues. There are probably dozens of people on harp-l who have lost their mic “due to misadventure”.

What also works great are little kids cotton ankle socks...
you could even use them in tandem with the leather pouch.
