[Harp-L] Sorry for the shameless promo, but we don't have a 40th every day...

Although we both had been playing individually for years, Kenny and I met and began making music together 40 years ago when guesting on Santa Barbara radio KCSB. After we had played a song, the station received a phone call offering us $15 and a pizza to come play at the Sojourner. We accepted – but only after holding out for free beer. The rest, as they say, is history.

This from the press release:

"The Flying Fish/Rounder recording artists have now been playing their unique blend of guitar and harmonica blues, rags, and good time music to widely diverse audiences for 40 years. Their live performances include concerts, clubs and festivals all over the world."

"Together and separately they have worked on countless film scores, TV soundtracks, commercials and sessions. They’ve appeared on television internationally, have played for audiences of 300 million via Voice of America and are frequent guests of National Public Radio. Between them they have issued 14 CDs, 12 instructional books and several DVDs. In addition to working with Kenny, Tom has played on over 260 CDs… and Kenny was recently honored by Martin Guitars with his own Signature Model 000-18KS."

"In their long career, the boys have played nearly every venue on the west coast – from the smallest dive bars to the Hollywood Bowl – but the Lobero Theater in their hometown of Santa Barbara has always been their favorite. A 40th Anniversary concert and celebration will be held on October 26 — come join the party!”

(Thanks Harp-L for allowing me this one plug… I shan’t mention it again.) :) -TB
