Reminds me of the late 50's/ early 60's LSD experiments, in which a dose was given to a subject sitting in an all white room on an exam table while surrounded by scientists in white coats studying the effects on the subject. Seems like a few of them started freaking out, so some clinicians concluded that LSD = Freaking out.
However, out in the real world, subjects who took LSD had a great time wandering in the woods staring at flowers and trees. LSD = wonderful experience.
Which one was the valid conclusion?
