As a general rule, 98% / 3%, I don't make rules for others to follow. <grin>

I play the first part of a notable hook to acknowledge what has gone before
me (Neil Young, Tom Petty), then enjoy some expression/improvisation, and
MAY return to the signature hook. Audiences tell me they like both.

I think it's horrible to use the word horrible to describe another's choice
of music. <grin>
