I was wondering if the impedance on your cord  was compatible with that house pa.?  I was also thinking that everyone was at high volume and already taxing the system.
Then there was the possibility that you had a weak channel. Rare but it does happen. The only time I had problems was when I was too 'in front' of the speaker stacks.
Just some cerebrum oozings. :)
