I had the opportunity to see Paul Delay in Vancouver, WA just east of Portland in the spring of 1992 just before he was incarcerated. He was an amazing presence onstage with his huge vocal and harmonica performance. I was totally impressed, not only with him but also his band. A girlfriend suggested it and I had no idea what I was in for and they rocked and it was one of the most memorable shows I’ve seen. I love his chromatic and diatonic playing. He died way too young like so many.
