Thank you all
The song is in A , and I am playing notes. Unfortunately I rarely know what notes! When a song is called I ask what key the song is in, and then choose 1 or 2 pos. Depending on the flavor of the song. And then " find the song by ear" . It usually works cause most of the songs called are a 1 4 5 progression. In this case I could not "find " it. After the song I asked the mandolynn player the chord progression, when he said F# m I turned to you guys! I did try it in 2nd and it was close. ( is draw 3 whole step bend an F#m? Or close?) or I will try 12th. UM I don't know what a arpeggio is?
Thank you all!
Dan

When you do so, you have the natural minor which is the blues scale in 3rd position (in this case, blues scale in F#). Moreover, he has the full E and F#- chords + the tonic and the third of the A chord (5-6 draw holes, fifth are overrated ;) ), so it's a nice begining :)

>> .If you mean you can play an F# minor chord without the need for arpeggiation, you are correct. You can get the E chord as well. But his song has an A chord, which cannot be played without arpeggiation.
