I picked up a Rocket recently, though I have been pretty much sold on the Manji since I first tried them. I would imagine my playing style would be considered hard, as I don't baby my harps and prefer to be as
nasty/gritty as I'm able. Manji's seem to hold up pretty well and I've been pretty happy with the longevity of the reed plates. My Rocket is in the key of A and my band does quite a few songs in the key of E, so it has gotten quite a workout in the first two gigs of use. I have nothing but good to say about the harp as far as tone, comfort and ease of play, I loved it from the first trial. My concern is in how well it will hold up under fire. I have tried two Crossovers and was totally disappointed with how short the reed life was with my playing style. I even replaced the reed plates on one and it blew out pretty quickly too. I'm curious if anyone has had a Rocket long enough to know if they seem to hold up well and also, I can't seem to find any definitive answers online as to whether the Special 20 reed plates are interchangeable. If anyone has any takes on these subjects, I would sure appreciate hearing about it. Thanx in advance.
