I can ditto what Richard said. I attended one of Jon's Camps a year ago and
loved the experience. It's fantastic way for a newbee to get a kick start.
I'd recommend it.
On top of that, there are a number of people who do lessons via Skype.
Depending on where you live, there could also be a workshop near by.
I also attended the Midwest workshop in St . Paul MN. This year, met a
bunch of new friends, and gained some new challenges to work on.
