A couple thoughts on the recent discussion on draw 2 vs blow 3:
I agree with Winslow that the air chamber in your mouth is connected to both blow and draw notes as far as tone quality. Being able to bend draw 2 gives you more expression, but you can still get a lot out of blow 3.
One exercise that helps a lot is to go from draw 2 to blow 3 and work at getting the tone to match. It is possible.
Another one is to use a chromatic harmonica and match the tone on blow 4 and draw 4 with slide in( on a C chromatic they are both C notes). Get the tone and vibrato to match. Both of these exercises build chops that transfer to playing any kind of harmonica.
If you treat blow 3 as another note with all kinds of rich tone just waiting for you to discover, you'll get a lot more out of it than if you think of it as not as good as draw 2.
