Re: [Harp-L] Tawhiri
This is a great philosophy to have and I've seen it work in others.
I taught a class at Augusta Heritage Blues Week. One of the students was a very small lady who had weak and thin tone.
I had her come to the front of the class, told her to close her eyes and imagine herself as a large black woman who sang the blues (like images of Big Mama Thornton). I had her hold that image in her mind for a minute and then play. The whole class was very surprised at the positive change in this student's tone for the better.

Subject: [Harp-L] Tawhiri
I come from Aotearoa (New Zealand).
Sometimes when I play the harp I pretend I am channeling the forces of
Tawhiri, the Maori God of Wind and Storms.

When I do this my tone seems to magically improve.
I am interested to know whether others notice any change.
Jeremy.
