Re: Subject: [Harp-L] Broken CX-12 Comb

LOL, I guess I lurk far too often, no one knows who the heck I am. I
happen to know that Scotty writes lots of great posts so she will
forgive me if I stand up and wave and say that this time it was me.
Hi Scotty! I even know that Joe Leone calls himself Mr Cellophane
sometimes. lol! ironic... It got me thinking how strange it is that I
should be so aware of you folks and not vice versa! So to dispel any
possibility of being a creepy lurker I am speaking up and saying
hi....

I know it was me because the exact same thing happened to my prize CX
(reeds done by Pat Missin). The tabs were bent out of shape so it
kept the comb from fitting well in the shell. The tabs seem to just
be there to align the comb correctly in the shell and keep it from
sliding around. So by breaking off the bent tabs but keeping the
intact tabs, there was still enough there to keep the comb in place.
Problem solved. And that's about as handy as get! :)

PS I wrote an article about the Diminished tuning in "Harmonica
Happenings" last year...
