Re: [Harp-L] Toots called Howard a name
I've heard bootleg recordings of their joint concert at the Harmonica Summit. Howard sounds like he's on fire, while Toots sounds like he's having a so-so night, as if he were feeling ill physically which I've seen before. I remember one occasion where he played a gig and carried it off, but was so beat offstage that he could barely respond to the people around him - and he's normally cheerful and gregarious.

I do not believe for a minute that Toots is jealous of Howard.
I do know that they were "forced" to perform together at Michalek's Harmonica Summit and that Toots did not particularly care for Howard's approach. (Vicki and I spent some alone time with Toots at that event - he did not enjoy it very much).
