My band often ends the show with Not Fade Away in E. Used to be I'd play it completely in cross on my A harp. What really led me to start experimenting with straight on it was the fact that I'd blown out so many A harps, and I was trying to save their playing life a bit. So I began starting it out on my E harp for the first two verses, and then switching over to cross for my solo. Occaisionally, I'll switch back over to E to throw a little more variety into it. It can add a more melodious touch to the song if done right.
