I too am a very satisfied Boomerang III customer. I've been using the unit for over a year now and I love it. It's the most responsive of the loopers I've used (with respect to latency when changing modes (stopped >> recording >> playback). 

I use the 3 loops (I know there's a fourth, but I don't use it) sequentially (e.g. outro, verse, bridge) and the timing is spot on (unlike my experience with Boss loopers) both for continuous loop playing and moving from loop to loop.

An important note about the Boomerang: it has no storage except for configuration parameters once you power it down, strictly designed for live looping.

I probably should also say that I don't use it for layering, just for laying down a guitar part before picking up my harmonica. But I think the layering guys generally like this unit too.
