Subject: [Harp-L] The first song to usher in the New Year, every year

Hi Ansel:

Being from Scotland I found this most interesting. While the part from 3:34
(or thereabouts) definitely hit THE most authentic notes for me, I found
the rest of it extremely innovative and a fun take on Auld Lang Syne.

Thank you.

The lyrics you posted on your YouTube are a bit anglicized since most
English speakers have absolutely no way to comprehend the Scots dialect as
originally written, but they're a fair enough translation of our poet, Rabbie
Burns:

This is my favourite vocal version by Dougie MacLean:

So far yours is THE harmonica Auld Lang Syne I've enjoyed the most this
year. Couldn't open the link to another and so this was a very nice way to
welcome in the New Year after watching the ball descend in Times Square (with
the sound off to what passes for musical acts on tv today). It was far too
cold to go out: still recovering from bronchial pneumonia so couldn't play
along with Dougie on my own chromatic as I usually do. (An A chromatic -
button in, mostly draw, sounds pretty good).

Appreciated yours instead.

Elizabeth (a/k/a Scotty)

Happy New Year 2013 everyone

I had no date to celebrate New Year's Eve with, so instead I spent the
evening kissing my harmonica. And being New Years, there was only one song
to play in anticipation of midnight:

Happy New Years to all. May 2013 suck--and blow.
