Re: [Harp-L] Violin and Harmonica

Â+1 on Big River. I was in the orchestra for a production of it two years ago. Some very fine arrangements with theÂfiddle and guitars.

Side question on this....I've heard some popular songs out there where the arrangement replaces a harp with fiddle altogether. While I'm all for musical variations and adaptations, to me this somewhat takes away from the songs. Couple of examples....

And, slightly more painfully, Whammer Jammer....

Big River has some nice stuff with violin.
Part of the arrangement has some harmonica with strings.

Hi Gary,

I agree that harmonica and fiddle sound great together. Please post a video of your upcoming gigs.

I recorded harmony with fiddler Christian Ward in 2008 on 2 slow tunes, Loversâ Waltz and Lonesome Moonlight Waltz. (You can hear these tunes on Soundcloud, High Desert Bluegrass Sessions (https://soundcloud.com/david-naiditch).)

Most recently, I jammed with fiddler Phil Salazar on a few bluegrass and country swing tunes:
