I'm positive this would not fly in the US. When I flew from Spain we had to go through a second security check just for going to the US.

Hi Jon, I'm a chef by trade and a few years ago I got a job in France. I had to take all my knives and phoned the airline to see if I could take them as hand luggage, they said it would be fine as long as I securely taped every knife individually. And I mean really tape them!! I don't know if they will accept this in America but its worth phoning the airline and asking .
