Re: [Harp-L] Michalek Blues

Chris was fulla talent. Chris was fulla himself, too. Sometimes his fulla himself got him into trouble, as he loved to be the center of attention and sometimes created situations to place himself there - I didn't always care for his abrasive approach, but could never deny the full extent of his abilities.

Like a few others here, at the end Chris and I had patched up differences and had a few interesting offlist conversations - always regarding some exotic aspect of music.

Chris Michalek was a good man and a GREAT harmonica player... OK at first,
we were not friends.. He hated me. BUT BEFORE he passed away we became
friends, he was a great dog trainer, (like me) but more than that he was
probably the best diatonic jazz harmonica player who ever lived... HE ALWAYS
PLAYED IN TUNE. I respected Chris....
I wish that he hadn't passed away... I'd so much like to have "rows" with
him again.. God bless you Chris Michalek... RIP
You were a good man, and an even better friend...
