[Harp-L] Re: Harmonica Otherwise playlist on Spotify

Thanks, Martin!

It has a commendably ecumenical ... character. No unnecessary pyrotechnics

That's exactly what I was after, so I guess mission accomplished as far as
that goes!

We knew that already ;-)

That's an interesting question. Is there a disproportionate host of great
harmonica players in France compared to population? I don't really know. We
have a number of great harmonica players, that's for sure, but I'm not sure
what we should consider to be the "normal" amount of them. What is quite
certain as far as I'm concerned is that Milteau has done a lot to boost the
image of the harmonica in France by playing on many pop tunes and alongside
many pop stars. Is that enough to justify picking up the instrument and
getting really good at it? Maybe.

Pasi is great although there's something about his (to my ears) fake US
accent that puts me off his singing. Which is a shame since he has a
wonderful voice. I have a preference for his older record Mainly Blue. It's
not as slick as Uncaged, but it's fresher to my ears and has amazing
acoustic arrangements.

I'm glad I was of service. I should get in touch with you to figure out
where in Sweden you reside, actually, since I hit Stockholm a fair bit and
am due there again in a few months.

I'll start working on other harp compilations soon. Maybe a European
Harmonica Greats would be of interest?
