[Harp-L] RE: So many microphones, so little time

Oh yeah.

HIGH SCHOOL PEP RALLY MIC:
Because I played sports in high school, I had 6th period PE. On pep-rally days they would plug up the sound system in the gym. Cant remember the mic or the PA brand but the coaches would allow me to play through it since there were only the athletes, trainers, coaches and THOSE ALL IMPORTANT CHEERLEADERS around to hear me. The HS band would eventually start filtering in and I would always ask the band director if I could play a little during the pep-rally. Of course he never allowed it. I played "Dixie" on day and it all ended. The black guys were all shouting "dont play that, play anything but that" and the black football coach pulled the plug. Literally.

SCHOOL BUS
During my school teaching years, I took advantage of any opportunity to play over that funky, ripping, distorted school bus PA! Really brings the kids to attention (for a moment).
