The gas they use nowadays is Sulfuryl Fluoride. It used to be Methyl
Bromide but apparently MB is bad for the atmosphere so they stopped
using it. Methyl Bromide left zero residual. You could use it in food
processing plants. The same is supposed to be true of
sulfuryl Fluoride, it completely aerates and is gone. SF is also used
in mills and processing plants. Imagine flour going buggy. fjm
