There are some very good small digital recorders available these days. For
less than two hundred dollars you can buy the recorder, a table stop mic
stand for it and get surprisingly good recordings. On the real cheap side,
I used to use a twenty five dollar RCA digital recorder I use in my practice
to record harp club meetings and jam sessions. It was very unobtrusive. It
fits in a diatonic slot in my harp case. I would just set my harp case
someplace close, turn it on, let it run and then edit with audacity after
the fact. Not studio quality but useable.
