Than you for th positive comments, I must apoligise for the delay in commenting back, things got buisy in the last couple of days.
 This is what I use. in this signal path

At Montreux I went streight into the PA. Most of the time I use a Mackie SRM 450 (Powered 400 watt speaker wich usually is more than loud enough) and as well go direct into the PA.
 I have Euro voltage transformers for all the gear and the Pod swiches out by puting a different value fuse and swiching a ribbon connector as well as using a euro electrical cable (computer type)
I also use a line 6 short board wich controlls the POD and lately I've put a POG 2 in the effects loop of the POD.

I MUST take Richard Hunters example and spend more time fooling with the POD. Depending on the model # of the Pod you use, IF there is a USB connector you can download the Line-6 Monkey (FREE) and edit your pod right from your computer, as well I beleive most Pods are compatible with some version of a Line-6 foot controler. Oh you can download the manual.

  That is some killer stuff. Thanks for sharing. Was that all done thru the POD line out and mic with no amp in the loop? What mic? Santana has always been known for his dorian mode stuff and you were right in there at the end with the sub-dorian 3rd position diatonic stuff. Well, you were right in the pocket in everything with some very powerful and awesome chops. YOU ROCK!
