Re: [Harp-L] Is Howard Levy the most technically advanced harmonica player?

Best player ? Maybe could be said as " My Preferences"
Is the player that influenced me the most , "The Best" ? Butterfield
The one I listen to most best ? Carlos D. J., Will Clark
The one who's the trickies ? Most technical ? Howard
Fastest ? LD
Coolest name ? Magic Dick
Popper ? If you use an effect peddle on every song it looses it's effectiveness. Fast riffs on every song loose their ,,,"effect",,, for me.
That's why I like to play thru the vocal mic sometimes, and not always with delay or verb. Sometimes play chrom or alternate tunnings,,, keep things from all sounding the same.

Of course, there is no "best" harmonica player; Howard has a great deal of
the kind of control he has spent lots of time developing, and many are
grateful to him for his groundbreaking work. Others don't really enjoy his
work--
when the subject of "best guitarist" comes up, I usually toss them Django
Rheinhardt--the Belgian Gypsy jazz master who played with only two fingers
on his left hand.
If he is not the best, at least he did the most!
So on harmonica, that's probably John Popper (ducks and dons flame retardant
suit)
