Re: [Harp-L] Harmonica Resolutions?

Elizabeth, your determination is inspiring! I bet you will have achieved your resolution in a few weeks - then what'll you do?

  Another bar, another bust. Sigh.

This was actually my fifth attempt to see this band: Two blues jams
that had been discontinued but were still being advertised, two gigs at
a local cafe before Christmas, both cancelled because the cafe closed
early due to having no customers, and tonight, when there was "an
overbooking problem". The reggae combo won.

By the numbers (i.e. from their MySpace page), and from my phone
conversation from the head guy in the band (whose name and number I got
from one of the two bars where the jams used to be), it sounds like it
might be a very good match. Easy going guys, blues but other genres,
too, "If it ain't fun, it ain't happenin'." I just want to discreetly
be in the same room and listen for an hour before I present myself and
ask for lessons, so that if it doesn't feel right, I won't have called
attention to myself only to say, "Thanks but no thanks."

Their next gig is Thursday. I will try again.

  Elizabeth (determined)
