[Harp-L] how to make a slide softer ?

the slide of my chromonica 260 has become harder . I wash it really good with a toothbrush once per week .

Then it becomes a bit softer but only for one day maybe . Never like the brand new slide it used to be .

do you have any other suggestions ?
