Hi,
You also make a lot fewer mistakes, plus you're more easily able to work your way out of one and make a mistake sound like a passing tone that belongs there and you quickly hear where the clams are being made. Most harp players who have a decent to strong knowledge about music theory generally tend to be players who do play other instruments, especially chordal instruments like guitars or keyboards. I do play a bit of guitar myself. I always have and still recommend that EVERY harp player should take the time to learn music theory (not necessarily sight reading, a related skill set, unless you're playing classical music, jazz, or gonna be a full time studio session pro).

I would like to add one more thing about learning harmony on a chord
instrument: it's incredibly fun! After I started learning some music theory
through guitar lessons everything started to make more sense, and playing
and
listening to music became even more enjoyable.
Thanks,
