After the 355, the philosophy seems to change such that the Rp500 and Rp1000
are "stomp box"/"performance" oriented.
You lose the two channel amp features on the Rp25x and Rp35x units, but you
get an ability to turn all the different effects for a given preset on and
off with your feet.
Personally, for the harp, I think the amp a and b approach, combined with
Richard's patches put us as close to Digitech nirvana as we're probably
going to get. 
I love the Rp500 for my guitar and I'm not saying you couldn't develop harp
patches for that machine as you have all the same models and effects, but
there's something about the design of the interface for the Rp25x/Rp35x
units that just works better for the harp.

Don't go too high the rp2000 is about 10yrs old, im sure things have
improved since then.
