indeed, when i looked at your list, it made sense to me that Eb would be 
more useful than E.
so i took a look at the cheat sheet that lives in my gig case, giving 
keys for the various songs
that have come up.  out of ~70 songs, only 4 are in B/Bm or Bb.  here's 
the breakdown:

17 A/Am
3 B/Bm
1 Bb
10 C
10 D
11 E
1 Eb
1 F
14 G


now, this jam tends to play more rock than blues, so your mileage may 
vary.  in
my acoustic duo, most songs are in D.  the last band i was in played a 
lot in Bm
or E.

in any case, those basic 7, with E or Eb as the 7th, will serve a newbie 
well.
