Nothing to explain, is my guess.  "different strokes for different folks". The people that DO enjoy what you are describing would probably ask "Where is the fun in playing super quietly? Where is the energy? The power?". Lots of folks like playing golf. I would rather poke my eye out with a sharp stick.
