Amen!

Here's a bunch of harpsters around, which are playing just right on the beat,
very precisely - and they don't swing, for sure. Talking with them about
that? Uuuuh, better not - the only reply one can get is "THAT'S MY PERSONAL
STYLE!". Well, fine. Harp players with personal style after a 6 or 9 months
of playing harmonica.
So i changed the way to hook them up: I use to give them music to listen and
to learn ("Hey, we could play that song together, with two harps - whatya
think about?") AND when we have (in a jam session situation) two harps on
stage, i start them following me into swinging licks. Sometimes THEY start a
talk after that ("Wooohhh, that was cooool, how did that work?") and then
they begin to a) think, b) ask and c) PRACTICE that.
:-))

Thank god my dad was a teacher...and i'm not!

Seeya,
Ralf
