Re: [Harp-L] Shure SM57 microphone questions

Use some heat shrink of the appropriat diameter. MAKE SURE you use a peice that is longer than you need .....(this protects the ellement from heat).....shrink it gently and use a slightly danp cloth to wipe it and cool it quickly then carefully cut it to the length that suits you. I'm personally not sure but.... I beleive you have to vent (put holes in the heat shrink) behind the element for air flow. (Anyone)
I use a Senheiser 604. wich has no issue with screen noise but is somewhat narow like the 545 and the 57. I use a peice of foam pipe insulation which makes it easier for me to hold.
I took my mic to the hardware store to fit it.

CAUTION/DISCLAMER Dont ruin your mic TOO MUCH HEAT can do this...........................................................Dane Paul

I too would be interested in hearing about any other solutions to the handling noise problem related to the rotating grill, although I use an SM545-SD.

Thanks.
