[Harp-L] Re: Weber 5F2H Harp Amp
To determine if the power tranny is bad in an amp that blows fuses-
Power it up without the recto. If fuse does not blow, there is
probably a short in the high voltage circuit, the recto tube socket or
the recto is bad.
If the fuse still blows, the final test is to disconnect and isolate
all of the secondary windings and retest. This can be done
sequentially or all at once. If the fuse still blows with all of the
secondaries disconnected, the PT is bad.
Weber VST sells circuit breakers that can be alligator clipped into
the the AC supply for this testing to avoid the expense of multiple
fuses.
