Which is a far cry from " In  general, chromatic players are more 
learned in music "  Anecdotal accounting with no actual statistical 
basis makes it easy for anyone to make any point.  I include myself in 
this group with my previous reply.  Having just recently rewatched the 
William Galison with Madeline Peyroux snippets up on you tube I would 
agree that he's an extraordinary musician.

Personally I worship at the altar of lyricism but I still like the 
difficult Coltrane recordings.   fjm
