Re: [Harp-L] Speaker Hook-Up

Well, first of all, your amp does produce 40 watts of output power. The "40
watts" you see on the amp indicates its electrical consumption, not its
power or loudness. With those tubes, your amp probably produces about 5
watts. It is easy to get the two confused, particulalrly since unscrupulous
eBay vendors often cloud the issue in an attempt to make thier item sound
more powerful than it is.

As long as your speakers present the same load (ohms) to the amp, you should
be good to go. If the 6-inch speaker is 4 ohms, replacing it with another
4-ohm speaker should be fine. What kind of amp is it? Is there a name on
it? Is there a 6-digit code on the rim of the 6-inch speaker?

Disclaimer: I am not a tech, just a guy who likes old tube amps.
Everything I wrote here may be wrong...
