Re: [Harp-L] Suzuki covers

I think so because they they leak on recessed combs as well. Perhaps not as badly as in Randy's case if indeed he's mixing and matching different model parts but certainly noticeable. To reiterate, the Harpmasters/Bluesmasters are good harps. They're fast playing with smooth bends and overbends after tweaking. That's why the leaky covers are a curiosity. Perhaps my lips serve to block the leaky areas as I play and it's a moot point. I can't tell. On the other hand, there might be a little more goodness to be had from them with proper fitting covers.
One more thing. The Harpmaster has only three screws holding the reedplates to the comb. They're already drilled for four more but when I tried to add some extra screws they are positioned right where the cover tab starts. Almost exactly. A millimeter would have given enough clearance but noooo. I know adding extra screws can't help a fundamentally bad harp but I thought it couldn't hurt one that is pretty decent.
