Re: [Harp-L] quick quesiton
Chris, people did business long before Paypal, but it will deter a few people. I've not done this, but I've considered it for a long time, charge a paypal fee. Let folks use it, but have them split the fee with you, or pay the fee. One of these days, I'll probably ask customers to pay half the fee.
Besides the fact some folks like convienence, there's this deal of credit cards, some people want to put stuff on the card and pay it later in installments, so if you don't use paypal, you've eliminated credit cards entirely for the customer and taking credit cards themselves is way more expensive than paypal.
I think it would be a better idea to have the customer pay the fee than to deny them that option. If they don't want to pay the fee, then, they can send a check.
Or you could charge a more fair price and not worry about skimming the bottom of profitability. Your stuff I've seen is underpriced. Folks ought to stock up before you figure that out....
Dave

Subject: [Harp-L] quick quesiton
I just had a quick question for all the fine folks on here. I've been making and selling harps for a while and I wanted to get some feedback from the group. I've been thinking about getting away from using paypal due to the fees and whatnot so I was wondering if it would deter folks from ordering harps and combs if they didn't have the paypal option and had to send a check or money order.
