On the strength of a review from Blues Revue, I just downloaded "Live From
Bluesville" from Amazon.com. Yum, Yum. An acoustic set with Fiona Boyes,
Guitar; Rich DelGrosso, mandolin; and Mookie Brill, bass. The opening track
features Mookie Brill doing a super vocal job on Sonny Boy Williamson's
"Early in the Morning". Sadly uncredited (I scoured the web) is some very
tasty harp playing on that same track. Who's the guilty party? Anybody
know?
By the way, if you haven't tried Amazon's MP3 download service, take a
look. Very high quality (average 256 bit, variable bit rate) files without
creepy digital rights management stuff gunking up your computer. Prices are
good too. Beats the living whatchamacallit out of iTunes.
